I need to make some gears/pinions myself. I have access to a high quality 4-axis CNC mill, but not to a lathe. I'd like to cut these gears out of flat stock (facing), rather than round (edgewise) using narrow end mills. Being able to prototype this in plastic sheets is important to me. I've found a bunch of sites that explain hobbing and that have formulas for pitch etc, but no sites that actually generate the splines for the gear teeth to turn into Gcode. Before I sit down with Mathematica and derive it from first principles, does anyone know of a good resource for this?

My other half's car for the last 5 years has been a Mercedes ML350cdi. To it's credit it's was one of the most comfortable cars we've owned. Incredibly practical for a family of five but it was becoming costly. Last year we spent £1k on incidental repairs not including servicing etc. This year the A/C pump packed up but it also developed a timing chain rattle on cold. Frustrating as it only had 104k on it, full service history too but a timing chain replacement was an engine out job, £4k+ and even a local specialist wouldn't do the job. I can’t wait until they fix the situation where you can fit tyres that have worse rolling resistance than the factory spec. ones. I think we can all agree that the current situation is untenable.

Many moons ago I owned a 156 SW V6 that I bought by accident but really should not have sold. 156 V6 It was a car that absolutely adored the noise and looks but that I never really trusted for main family car duties. It also seemed to be a magnet for other people to drive into. It was replaced by a surprisingly brilliant Octavia VRS which lacked the drama of the 156 but has been absolutely faultless for 6 years, massive inside, still relatively rapid and actually pretty good to look at too to my eye. 엔진오일이 너무 많으면 엔진이 손상될 수 있다는 말과 과도한 오일은 주행 중에 타서 괜찮다는 정비사의 의견이 모순되어 보임. 오일이 조금 초과했을 때 배출해야 하는지 아니면 그냥 둬도 되는지 판단이 안 됨. 몇 mm 또는 1L 정도 초과하는 것이 문제가 되는지 확인이 필요함.
