Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. My other half's car for the last 5 years has been a Mercedes ML350cdi. To it's credit it's was one of the most comfortable cars we've owned. Incredibly practical for a family of five but it was becoming costly. Last year we spent £1k on incidental repairs not including servicing etc. This year the A/C pump packed up but it also developed a timing chain rattle on cold. Frustrating as it only had 104k on it, full service history too but a timing chain replacement was an engine out job, £4k+ and even a local specialist wouldn't do the job. Looks pretty good. I can't see many people tracking these though.I suspect we will soon see heavy discounts. I like EV's but low range is still an issue for me. forgot track driving, the motorway range of this car in the winter will be 130 ish miles. I do regular trips across the north of Scotland and just couldn't be bothered with the planning / wait at charging stations.
