I've had one for nearly three years, replacing a 1990 964 Carrera 2. That was a great car, but I fancied something a bit quicker but wouldn't touch a non turbo car with all the potential engine dramas. I looked at just one, a blue 2004 car with less than 30,000 on the clock and bought it - it was and still is absolutely mint. Even in 2.0 guise, the 306 Cabriolet isn't something you'd describe as 'quick'. With a 1.8 and 112 bhp it's probably a little slow and not very Pistonheads. But I like it for that. It's a car that you take in the scenery with, can waft along with your thoughts. That is of course unless you have a two year old who is gently reminding you on a consistent basis that she 'don't want roof down', then you're maybe not so relaxed and feeling like a bad parent as her hair adopts the windswept look. I started a new job just over 2 months ago which requires 2-3 days a week in the office, I've ended up buying two different cars for the purpose of commuting and long story short both have been a disaster. In my naivety I assumed a fairly cheap, 100k French car would do the trick. Clearly not. So last week I began hunting for something comfortable, capable of good fuel economy, didn't have to be fast but interesting at least. Also, given the issues I've had with traders, relatively and without question, German built!! Deliberated over a Merc CLS but most of the 2nd gen don't have three back se

It has been done but I'm a stickler for keeping things original and it isn't really a car for driving quickly in anyway, I don't think. Horses for courses and all that.I had a 205 for many years (my mum actually had 6 back to back when I was a child), sold it during one of the lockdowns, often think about it still. You can't beat that tin can lightness of older French cars. I've got a 20 year old 987 S for when something needs to be taken by the scruff on the neck. That's taxed all year round too so gets a bit more action than this one does.

After over 30 yrs of wanting a TVR I've finally got one. My prefered car is the Sagaris but unfortunately ill never afford one of those. So i went for a Chimaera. Mainly for the Rover V8. I think they're less problematic and cheaper to run than the speed 6. This car had a new clutch, engine overhaul and the all important body off chassis restoration.
