With the Type 01 getting so much negative press, what should they be releasing in October ?I like it so far, reckon it will be epic but it does seem to upset a lot of people, so what should Jaguar be getting ready that would please you ?

My other half's car for the last 5 years has been a Mercedes ML350cdi. To it's credit it's was one of the most comfortable cars we've owned. Incredibly practical for a family of five but it was becoming costly. Last year we spent £1k on incidental repairs not including servicing etc. This year the A/C pump packed up but it also developed a timing chain rattle on cold. Frustrating as it only had 104k on it, full service history too but a timing chain replacement was an engine out job, £4k+ and even a local specialist wouldn't do the job. I had to do a decent round trip today. Mix of roads including some motorway. Lots of people doing 60 in a 70 resulting in all sorts of stuff jockeying for position and a congested queue behind each of these road captains.I also saw the example of an increasingly common EV driver habit, which is take off like a scalded cat, then get snarky when you want to pass them at what they must consider an inappropriate speed, their bottle goes, or their car runs out of puff. Other threadif youve been folling that thread you will no i have a Honda S2000 F20 and gearbox sat at work i was planning to fit to the Lampredi powered car.on Saturday i spend my day nipping to Kent, to pick up another unfinished rolling chassis and body. its a much later car with the lemans bonnet arguably not quite as pretty. but crucially has more space under it. being a later live axle chassis it has some nicer bits on, its got more strengthening, and the solid adjustable control arms instea

Got loads done yesterday with my buddies help. Got the rear brake a mocked up so I could fit so hose tabs. My buddy got all the crusty bits all cleaned up and ready to paint. I cleaned up the suspension arms as although there in good condition, there that light grey colour, I want everything black. Well pleased that's all done, as been dreading the clean up and painting as I hate it. All the ex escort parts were in abit of a state I'm guessing never been done. If, like me, you’re a convertible convert you really don’t give a crap whether other people think you’re a poser or having a mid life crisis. Having the roof down is on of life’s great tonics, adding a sensory element that no tin top can compete with. I think it was Clarkson who said that any car with its roof off becomes instantly miles better (probably on one of their specials) and he is spot on. I’ll take literally anything, however, if I’m allowed to be picky as I’ve got older I’ve erred on the side of comfort over out and out performance.
