With our two family wagons (an F11 530d and a dog friendly Ford S-Max) as the only means of transport for the family I felt it was time for something interesting (but reasonably cheap) for me to reconnect with my love of driving. We have mandated vehicle features for "safety" and for the environment.How about legislation to force "maintainability". So EGR valves/turbos whatever would need to be highly accessible and easy to clean out. I'm not sure how I'd define maintainability but I can certainly see it when it's missing!

The government and whoever is in charge should be doing everything possible to push the smaller, more sensible town-style cars.
