Hi Im working on ford mondeo mk4 and so far discovered that there are multiple communication faults. Checked the resistance, voltage… On osciloscope can high and can low are good but occasionally the network spikes and also the relay of glowplugs starts clicking for few seconds. This happens at random time but also when i open/close doors. When i turn the ignition on the relay is also clicking and also i can hear air intake actuator goes on and off. The thing is… I think that these things are only symptoms, tried many things but I dont know where else to go. What could produce these faults. Th

Hi, my ford is doing weird things and PCM or ecm is not communicating properly(when i connect to ecm after few seconds i have to reconnect). At random times relay in engine bay relay of glowplugs starts to click for few seconds and stops. This also occurs when i open or close front doors. When i turn igniton on this relays starts to click always and also the valve air intake is opening and closing without a break. Checked the grounds, the ecm was already changed and nothing changed. I think it could be wiring issue but dont know where to start checking. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am, of course talking about parts of the car itself, not the license plates and personal effects. The car is a 2002 Daewoo Lanos. It is being junked because the engine failed (the cylinder head cracked), and I decided to buy a different vehicle instead of replacing the engine. When it broke down, the car had a new battery (literally only a month old) and I disconnected the terminals so it wouldn’t go bad. First, I should say that my Fusion has an EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering) which means that there is no hydraulic pump but rather an electric motor which provides the assistance to the steering system. In January I had the “Service Power Steering Now” indication on the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) as well and an AdvanTrac (Ford’s traction control system) light. In dealer 2 different dealers for 2 computer failures 2x. So called repaired. Car hits the brakes by itself there is no way to turn off the radar on the front of the car. You have to remember to turn it off everytime you drive it. Then the gas pedal and brakes failed. The tow truck guy said just disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to re-set the Ecu. Well he did and I had to retrain the car how to shift over several days. Good thing the failure occured at 30mph. I am selling this. Left rear cross traffic sensor fell into rear bumper (adhesive failure?). This is the second incident. Toyota service manager claims it was knocked into bumper by external force although that is not what happened. The sensor failed when groceries were loaded into trunk during Covid. This is the exact sensor that was repaired by the service department previously claiming it was due to adhesive failure. There is no way to disable the sensor failure alarm on the dashboard display so there is a constant rear sensor failure alarm blinking constantly on the dashboard which is annoying.

Adding on to my other entry of problems regarding the battery, I have never had to replace a windshield wiper more often in my life. I am convinced this is an issue with the way the wiper mechanism is manufactured. None of the brand new windshield wipers ever last me 3 months without hearing that dreading squeaking sound. My other relatives who have newer Toyotas never have an issue. Their wiping action is clean and quiet, while mine leaves huge streaks on the windshield no matter what. The longer I have this car, the more issues arise yearly. When this car was first bought as new I noticed that the car battery would die whenever I didn't drive for a single day. All of the warning notifications keep going off. I have been to the dealership 3 times paid for a battery replacement and battery terminal replacement. I was quoted a ridiculous rate for a engine wiring harness replacement, I had to get that replaced by a certified technician but the car is still doing the same thing.
