If I were to go with a coolant flush every 15 to 20 thousand miles is this considered a little too excessive? It’s a ford fiesta mk 6 the service interval by the manufacturer is recommended at 100 thousand miles but I prefer to change it more often as my old Hyundai service interval was only 24 thousand miles.

Problem began when I would sometimes have to press the push start button several times to get it to start (no crank), progressively got worse until it wouldn’t start. When I would jump it it wouldn’t start right away but eventually it would. Replaced (5 year old) battery), initially still wouldn’t start until jumped. Many aftermarket hoods, especially for sports cars, make use of large cowls, ram air vents, and most commonly heat extractors on the sides of the hood. I'm a techie and we're always spending insane amounts of money to improve our computer cooling systems, as improved cooling directly correlates to higher stable processing speeds. So pretty much my Honda civic from 05 has been having cooling issues and I've done some work on the vehicle in attempts to fix the issue; I've replaced the entire engine, replaced both the radiator and fans, leak tested the system and have gone through 3 thermostats none of which have stuck. Though every time right before the engine begins to overheat the overflow reservoir coolant seems to have lightly spray out, I have never witnessed this actually happen but when I do pop the hood after the gauge seems higher than usual there is drops of coolant on the fan and the engine. Radiators for the automatic version of my car have a couple of extra coolant outlets at the bottom for cooling the auto transmission. I was sent the wrong radiator and I don't need these in my manual car. Would there be anything wrong with just connecting the two with a length of hose?

At various time the car won’t start. You can hear the starter gear engage but almost instantly disengage. Starter and battery have been replace along with tipem board. The car has been towed 6 times because it won’t start for my wife only to start upon arrival at the repair shop. If you put the ignition in the start position and place the transmission in reverse or neutral, then turn the ignition off and then put the transmission back in park it will start up. This morning my power steering stopped working and my heater and when I opened the hood there was coolant everywhere, looked like it came out of the radiator cap. The serpentine belt was off the lowest pulley and when I tried to put it back on I realized that pulley wasn't in line with the others, was not possible to put belt on. What would cause the pulley to move so far out of alignment and how can I fix it. Is this what's causing the other problems? It was below zero degrees last night and no garage.

I have been chasing this overheating problem for a couple of months now, and I am thoroughly frustrated. The first issue was a hole in a short, S-shaped hose that goes from the the air bleed valve on the top of the water pump, to a metal line that goes back to the heater coil…I think. Upon leaving my home the “check engine” light turned on suddenly after only less than 2 minutes of driving . The “ICS malfunction” light also turned on. The car pulled and stalled when pushing the gas and velocity stalled. Engine light turned said something similar to “engine overheating park in a safe place” . Not sure exact words. I am, of course talking about parts of the car itself, not the license plates and personal effects. The car is a 2002 Daewoo Lanos. It is being junked because the engine failed (the cylinder head cracked), and I decided to buy a different vehicle instead of replacing the engine. I work approx 30 minutes away from home. when i got home tonight, i noticed a hissing sound coming from under the hood and a thin smoke coming out of the front grill. the vehicle is a 2001 ford f-150 with 5.4L. I investigated further based on the smell and checked the coolant reservoir, upon opening it safely, pressure was relieved and the hissing sound stopped and i found it was empty. i added water, drove shortly down the block and got a gallon of 50/50 coolant and proceeded to fill the overflow. almost all of it went straight into the radiator, mind you the temp gauge never showed a sign of

Been a long day. Im not good at putting pictures on here. So ill try again. This is on my 89 year old moms ford explorer.its a 2012 she bought new. 3.5 engine. All work has been done at the local Ford dealer. 75k miles. I looked it over and decided to check the air filters and a few other things. I noticed the coolant looks pink, it should be orange. She has ever receipt from the dealer service. Its never had any work done involving coolant. Just tire rotation and oil changes. Sad to say she’s never even had them change the air filters. I have recently bought a 2005 Grand Prix V6 non supercharged. It overheats at idle and in park. I have had my head gasket and head resurfaced at Pepboys and replaced my radiator with a larger 1 inch thick radiator. The thermostat was also with a new OEM one. Bled and burped my cooling system. No leaks anywhere. Bypassed the heater and capped the hosses. The car still wants to climb to the red. It has Dextron 50/50 and has been flushed. Both fans kick on with a good amount of breeze. How can I troubleshoot my cooling system to discover what the issue might be with the continued overheating?

My cooling system is quite nasty and needs a flush. I followed instructions on radiator flush, which said to run the car no more than an hour. However few tutorial videos online suggest running radiator flush for few hundred kilometers. Understandably bottle instructions are more reliable source to follow but what happens when you run it for too long?

Hello, My 2000 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9l v6 engine overheated. For a few days I noticed when I started the truck it seemed to struggle with starting a little. When I cranked it…it kind of sputtered a little but then started as usual and was fine. I went on a 30-minute trip and noticed some steam and then the gauge went to hot. I got it towed back home. The upper coolant hose near the cap was off and antifreeze had spewed everywhere. Could this just be a faulty hose? CAR BATTERY CONSISTENTLY DIES EVEN WHEN VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN OPERATION FOR ONE FULL DAY. I HAVE A DASH CAM THAT IS IN OPERATION ALL THE TIME AND DISCONNECTED IT THINKING IT WAS THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. TODAY IS THE 10TH TIME THE CAR BATTERY HAS DIED IN 3 MONTHS.THIS TIME I HAD THE KEY IN THE SLOT TURNED ONE NOTCH (CAR ENGINE NOT TURNED ON) AND WAS PLAYING MUSIC VIA BLUETOOTH, WHEN SCREEN FLICKERED AND EVERYTHING WENT OUT. First let me state I've been an Auto Tech since about 1967, so this is kicking my butt. I've replaced the water pump, radiator, lower hose, thermostat, fan sensor, coolant sender, engine temperature sensor, I've checked it for a head gasket breach (fluid stayed blue), I've bled the air out from every place I could find but feel there is still a pocket of air in the system. This is my girlfriend's car so right now I look like a real idiot.....please someone help me....(I don't look good with egg on my face).....(oh, and I've sprung for all the parts so far....this is getting expensive....HELP!)

In dealer 2 different dealers for 2 computer failures 2x. So called repaired. Car hits the brakes by itself there is no way to turn off the radar on the front of the car. You have to remember to turn it off everytime you drive it. Then the gas pedal and brakes failed. The tow truck guy said just disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to re-set the Ecu. Well he did and I had to retrain the car how to shift over several days. Good thing the failure occured at 30mph. I am selling this. 2014 Acura TSX, 157k miles, this car has an overflow coolant reservoir Yesterday I noticed a bubble sound when shutting off car. I noticed the coolant level in the reservoir was at the MIN mark. Thankfully the car didn’t run hot. After letting the car cool off, I toped it off to the MAX line. The problem is I did a complete drain and refill about 30k miles ago. This seems excessive to me, for the level to go from MAX to MIN in ~30k miles. I don’t know if this is normal? Any suggestions on how to fix the radiator fans on my 99 Grand Am. Both fans don't even kick on after I turn on the ac like they did before. I replace the coolant tank all hose just replace the coolant temps sensor and all the fuses are good. I ran a power source to the fans and they worked fine.
