Sounds like you’ve really got stuck into using it already.They’re really fabulous cars; mine has massively got under my skin. I don’t care that it’s only a Boxster or that it’s old and not very fast. On a hood B road it’s still bloody good fun and it makes me smile big time.

Well, we know it can hoon it's way across the Cotswolds with it's bum on fire, and we know it looks beautiful sat still in the autumnal sunshine but the big question remains... can it road trip? In my house, a road trip means me, the wife, the dog and enough room for all our stuff as well as gear for wet/dry clean/muddy walks, all the dog's paraphernalia and plenty of comfort, while still being able to enjoy the drive without Mrs M getting sick of it all The great news is... mission accomplished! Firstly, there's loads of space. The frunk is huge (probably 30% bigger than the R8's) and then there's another huge one in the 'boot'. I was a little concerned that the rear one would get really hot (the issue with the boot on my Exige) but weirdly, despite being above the exhaust and next to the engine, it gets barely more than warm. Yes, the rear one is a bit of a frig because if you have the roof up then you need to undo the buttresses to get into it, but it's perfect for the stuff you want but don't need ready access to. And who's putting the roof up anyway? Comfort is great. We did easy 6 hours of driving both days (in a couple of stints) with zero complaints, no numb bums or aching backs. For anyone wondering about the dog, he's only little and he sits on the wife's lap. He wears a full chest harness and then we have a device that connects that to my wife's seatbelt so in the event of an accident he's as safe as he can be. Is it ideal? No - but you can't get a dog cage in a sports car. Does it work for us? Absolutely. The roof. Okay... I'm going to take issue with all the automotive journalists who made out it's a huge pain and would be a deal-breaker for many. Absolute bks. I watched a few videos that showed how you can easily do it in 25 seconds without rushing and they're not wrong. I can put it down.. one handed (while holding the dog in the other) in about 30 seconds. It takes a little longer (maybe 35 seconds and required two hands) to put it up, but it's hones
