I had a choice of half a dozen 335Ds at just one car supermarket site, including one with the spec I was looking for. So diesel it was.Yeah, I had much the same issue when i was looking for this generation of 5 series. There was roughly 1 petrol on Autotrader for every 70 diesels so I ended up with a 530d. That had the ZF 8 speed auto and as a complete drivetrain it was flawless. Never for a second did I wish it was a manual. I currently own this generation of 3 series in the shape of an M4. People say that the non-M spec is more discreet, but my car gets very little attention anyway; it's a 3 series rather than an Aventador no matter what M-bits you stick on. Mine is a DCT and again, not for a moment have a wished I had a manual. As Autocar pointed out, the DCT suits it better and in my case where it's my only car, makes it super easy to drive 99.9% of the time and the 0.1% of the time that you can use the performance, the paddles work great.

Reviews of the M350 are starting to hit the websites of the big magazines - all pretty positive. Looking like if you're sticking with combustion it's another really good 3 Series.

We had both a 164 and a 166, both V6s. I preferred the 164. Better driver’s car and better looking. Don’t like these late face-lift 166s at all. Not sure why the 156 keeps getting mentioned in a 166 article: that’s like comparing a BMW 3 series with a 5 series.

In a multi story that I was using earlier this evening, the MOT ran out in May 24. I do find the car park ones odd, I've seen other seemingly abandoned cars in other car parks, I'd love to know the reasons.

A somewhat unbalanced duo which is acknowledged from the start in this head to head. I would never put these two on the same page and i found myself unpicking the Porsche rather than comparing it to the Morgan. Despite the indifferences the 911 wins out.

I got the make and basic model in three - not Cardle's answer though. Ironically I intended to type in Challenger but ended up typing Charger for some reason - so I got it right by default!

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
