I got a tank of Super (Jet brand) for 175.9 yesterday. E10 was 10p below that. Seems to be a slight move in the right direction although that garage is always cheaper than the one down the road. However, the one down the road is in a busier location. It’s an interesting case study when you think about it. Our Economics teacher used petrol as his example of ‘perfect competition.’ There’s essentially no difference between the product of various companies and they can all be used interchangeably.

With the untimely death of my daily Ford Focus Estate Titanium X recently it was time to find a new daily. The Focus was struck by a DHL lorry who straight-lined a two lane roundabout with me on the inside lane. Minor damage sustained but with the car on 127,000 miles the repair cost outweighed the value. Been an expensive week so far. Monday was monies and quotes concerning day one of buying a house, plus it peed down with rain all day. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day so in order to save money and take the little 4 month old Mazda for a spin, I decided to return my wrong prescription glasses to the factory in Amersham by hand. Whilst I think the R8 looks great on the 19" wheels, the availability of track tyres is limited. Those that are available are expensive, and I want to run slicks. More specifically, I want to run used slicks. New slicks are £300+ each; I can buy lightly worn used ones for approximately £50 each. Race teams run them for a race, then replace them. So yes, they are past their best in terms of grip, but they are still perfectly acceptable to use on trackdays. New R tyres, ie A052, CR-S, DZ03 are similar money to new slicks. As the largest consumable, especially with a heavy car like this is tyres

Got a manual Mk 7.5 Gti for the boy last week although I’ve been the one driving it at every opportunity so far. It’s a fantastic thing that handles, brakes and steers in the most engaging way with the engine having both torque and revs.Exterior compared to the Mk 8 is actually very similar and I still find it hard to spot the difference. Interior I much prefer of course although there is more hard plastic than I was expecting. I think the Audi S3, pre 2024 to avoid driving aids, would be the upgrade although you then lose the manual.Have they fixed the non draining fuel filler compartment wit

A little addition to the fleet this weekend in the shape of a 2010 E82 125i. I've got a couple of cars that are at extremes, a Clio that is great for track days but terrible on the road and another BMW that is lovely for road trips but I'm too precious over it to use on track days and it's not really that kind of car for me anyway. I've done a fair few trips in my mates Cayman GT4 over the last 18 months and as you'd expect it does a great job at covering both bases. We've done 5 hour drives in relative comfort and then enjoyed it round a track for 10 hours before driving home again (not all o

What is with this trope of slating the Mk8 Golfs interior? My wife has had a Mk8 now has a Mk8.5 - the 8 was pretty poor, but the 8.5 actually has a very lovely interior for the class and the infotainment is nice to use. Just seems like lazy journalism.. I’m almost certain PH have praised the exact same infotainment on other reviews.

981 카이맨 MOT 검사 시 제논 헤드라이트 높이 낮음으로 인한 주요 부적합 판정을 받았으나, 검사자가 즉시 조정하여 통과시킴. 헤드라이트 조정은 프런트 트렁크의 전용 공구를 사용하는 작업이므로 2분 내에 완료되기 어려움. 검사자가 짧은 시간에 이 작업을 완료하고 부적합을 통과로 변경한 이유에 대한 의문.
