For the last 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to be able to have an older car to muck about with, go on trips, car meetings, the odd track day, euro tours and generally have fun. Mostly long-term ownership - Stag 8 years, 2x TVRs approx 4 years each, Boxster 987 3 years (as a daily) 996 Aero 3 years and a TR6 for several weeks (disaster car). For several years, I had a two at the same time and one year managed 5000 miles in the TVR and 3000 in the Stag.The 996 Aero was not a car I had ever wanted and ended up swapping unseen it for my modified 5.3 Chimaera during a boozy Sunday lunch. This is a departure for me. Usually I'm in shed territory having previously spent next to nothing on various vauxhalls. Anyway a few months ago wife suggested that the permanently leaking Astra 1.4GTC wasn't comfortable enough for her passenger needs. And she thought I might like to buy something much more comfortable. Not really dear. Anyway over the weeks it became clear that she was serious, so I started looking. Having shown her various "unsuitable" options it was clear that it had to have Big rear seats for tiny grandchildrens massive seats. And isofix. And 4 or 5 doors.My only requireme

The reaction on the forums has been overwhelming and a gofundme page was set up to try and get the project going again. A massive thank you to everyone that donated. I started off getting another Audi A6 2.7t donor car. This weekend I picked up another Boxster. It's a 2.7, has done 98k with full service history

Browsing the Barge 1-5 thread last Sunday, I couldn't help but click and look at this W124 which ended later that night. With apologies to poster Derin100 who was interested in the car (we communicated by email on it), I felt a bidding moment come over me. By 10pm the car was mine. Going back a little, the first car I actually owned came in the form of a green 300E W124. I had worked in London for a few years since leaving uni, and while a car fan, living in central London owning and running a car was just not on the radar. Not a bad place to drive, by the look of it. If the car has a cabin filter, it's secreted kind of behind the wiper. Mine (similar to r129sl's car) should have a filter, but has been bodged in the past. I think I've got all the bits to reinstate it.
