2005 쉐보레 임팔라, 3.4L 엔진, 주행거리 94,000km. 냉시동 시 스타터는 정상 작동하지만, 엔진이 시동되고 스타터가 멈추는 순간 즉시 엔진이 정지됨. 두 번째 시동 시도에서는 대부분 정상 시동됨. 최근 플러그와 점화코일(점화플러그선) 교체 이력 있음.

최근 진단 검사에서 진공 문제로 인해 새 연료 캡으로 교체함. 새 캡이 매우 제거하기 어려움. 차량이 간헐적으로 시동이 걸리지 않음 - 크랭킹되지만 버벅거리고 질식하는 증상. 시동 후에는 정상 작동, 부드럽고 가속 문제 없음. 아침에 다시 연료 캡을 제거하려 하니 매우 쉽게 벗겨짐. 새 연료 캡이 장시간 주행 중 과도한 진공을 만들고 짧은 기간 후 재시동 시 방해가 되는지 의심됨.

200,000km 이상 주행한 중고 트럭. 1년 이상 방치되어 있었음. 점화 플러그는 정상 작동하지만 연료 공급 없음. 타이밍 확인 완료 (TDC 맞음). 에테르 분사 후에도 시동 불가능 (역화 없음).

Recently a relative was bragging about their new mower, with a new Briggs and Stratton "Just Check and Add" engine, with no oil change recommendation. Better than sliced bread. I remember when a loud bang followed by a thud was heard from a neighbor's riding mower one Saturday morning. His still shiny mower, about three years old, had thrown a rod. The oil sump was dry. When asked, he said that no one told him he ever had to add oil. That memory ran through my head with the pitching of the Just Check and Add engine. 차선 유지 보조(Lane Assist) 시스템이 성가로움. 2개 버튼으로 끌 수 있지만, 차선 유지 보조를 끄려면 메뉴에 들어가거나 Track 버튼을 눌러야 함. Track 버튼은 모든 안정성 제어를 약화시키고 차선 유지 보조를 끔. 안정성 제어도 별도 버튼으로 완전히 끌 수 있음. 문제는 차를 재시동하면 모든 설정이 On으로 돌아감.

최근에 연료 탱크를 채울 때 펌프가 조기에 꺼지는 문제 발생. 유튜브 영상에서는 EVAP 활성탄 캐니스터(charcoal canister)가 막혔을 가능성을 지적. 2010 Corolla 해치백(Corolla Auris)에서 EVAP 캐니스터의 위치를 찾을 수 없음.

I've always enjoyed the photography in EVO, and the general quality of the articles, but it's always had a slight tone of self importance that I find slightly irritating.Modern Classics has recaptured my interest in printed magazines after years of abstinence. Attainable cars, and clearly written by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
