My neighbour had the 2.4 5 pot in her Fiat something or other estate. Sounded very nice, Audi Quattro-ish.She was the quintessential Hyasyth Bucket type. Later she bought a Smart and kept telling me it was made by Mercedes 'don't you know'.
Always did have a hankering for one of these, best iteration of a rather underrated car though it should've really had the 2-litre 20v turbo from the Coupe - presume they kept it NA and upped the capacity for emissions, etc at the time. Baffles the mind they ran in Selespeed only guise those first few years.Does look like a GP as it has the 18" OZ alloys, pretty much looks like the original OMP backbox and it does look lowered. Think it was only 20mm Eibach springs from memory. Zender kit looks so good on it though, I remember Fiat dealers selling these off, including those correct fit side-skirts (normal Abarth ones fell short of the rear arch(!)) for cheap along with the Super Turismos, a mate bought a set for his Marea 20v for less than £300 back in the day!For those saying it should be cheaper, probably but it ain't a £2k car. These weren't the most robust of cars and values fell through the floor so you just don't find them all that often. They're comfortable, decently specced and the engine is fine if looked after.I had the other end of the scale with the 1.2 16v, 80HP of mighty Fiat power! Such a light engine made it handle brilliantly though, especially with Eibach springs and dampers and some bracing. Custom exhaust and induction also helped sound a lot more Italian Looked nice too...

I'd rather take the Caterham out for a nice run instead bud to be honest, but I've put the bloody thing on a SORN now though! Is there a thread about Caterham’s or other things that you are interested in that you could participate in. We get it, you don’t like EV’s.
Glad you're ok, and a warm welcome to the 'Small car vs Mercedes 4x4' club. Membership is now 2 of us . I was in my Smart Fortwo and got rear ended by a Mercedes ML. Hopefully the Twizy is fixable.

However, quickly arrive behind a snail-moving vehicle. Country lane, but quite wide and easy to make progress. Except we have the brake lights in front sending out Morse Code signals; applies them for almost everything (or imagined). Next, traffic lights, stops, and then turns left, no signal, and snail acceleration; we've still got the Morse Code signals going. We proceed like this, at about half the speed the road is capable of, for about

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.

You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an
