Loving the thread op. I’ve had four Saabs and like most people, loved them. I first had one as a company car, a 2.0 Aero same colour as the one above. I then got another grey convertible before switching jobs where I was give a BMW company car until I could opt out and take a car allowance and then I got myself my own SaabThis was my third, a 93 V6 Aero Sportwagon. Someone rear ended it in Bath and wrote it off after a year or so , I was gutted.I replaced it with this, same V6 but a vert. I had this a couple of years before moving on to a Merc CLS then they were gone.Really enjoying your read t

Lovely to see all of your Saab's, please keep them coming - thoroughly enjoying it. Also seems like this one's more of a bargain by the minute from hearing your stories. Great to hear about the remaps too, will definitely consider it.More goodies arrived, which my other half definitely thanked me for displaying on the carpet.- Timing belt- Water pump- Idler- Tensioner- Air filter- Cabin filter- Oil filter- Fuel filterThe first job will be the intake and EGR replacement, so let's get started. That's a very good sign; the air filter is practically new. I'll be replacing it anyway as I've already bought the service kit, but this has given me some peace of mind.Timing belt cover removed, and it's clear where the minor oil leak is coming from. That's the intake cam seal, which is unfortunate. This can only be replaced by removing the cams, so this will - at least for now - stay exactly where it is. It's such a small leak that (apparently) it didn't need topping up between yearly services. I've not noticed any drop in oil level, and from my experience with the owner I'm definitely inclined to believe them. The other thing that's given me peace of mind is this snapped timing cover hole clip. There's a reason for that. Typically, if you want to remove the timing cover, you'll need to remove the engine mount as the bolt that holds this cover in can't slide out fully, as the mount is in the way.So the easy way to remove this cover without removing the bolt is to simply pull the cover up hard, snapping the hole. It's secured with other bolts so this doesn't really matter much, but it just shows that someone's been here before, which leads me to believe it's had at least one timing belt change.A quick inspection of the water pump reveals... not much coolant.Admittedly, it's hard to see with everything in place so I'm not going to make any decisions at the moment, but there's plenty of coolant surrounding this area.If it's not the water pump, it'll almost certainly be the hose to t

Hello everyone. This is my 968 Club Sport story...In 2003 I had a 2.5 "oval dash" 944 Lux in Zermatt Silver...I'll never forget buying it and that first drive home. That first glance in the door mirror, seeing those rear wheel arch "hips" and I was hooked...For the originality aspect (a great passion of mine) I purchased this excellent book...From that point forwards, I have looked at that yellow cover car in awe for 20 years.I went to Porsche in the Park 2003 and remember crawling over my first 968CS on the "Specialist Cars of Malton" stand...I came straight home and used this new thing called
