Mr Tidy said: When they came out I thought the E61 looked far less offensive than the E60, but with time I'm coming round to both of them. Maybe latest BMW models are a factor too! I suspect an Auto 525i isn't going to be a ball of fire - probably why I replaced my 325i with a 330i after just a year - but if you got a year out of it for that money it's a decent Shed. Although with new injectors costing over £500 each and potential HPFP issues maybe it's a Brave Pill as much as a Shed! The first E6*s had the M54 and then the N52 so one of those would be a safer bet, even if it cost a bit more.

Before probably end up buying a Honda or Toyota It is possible to like different flavours of 5 series at the same time:E39: regarded as the definitive 5, fabulously elegant now, but it was *really* generically styled in periodE60: striking modernisation, I think still handsome nowF10: back to elegant; the middle ground between the previous two.I don't see many of the next 2 generations on the road.I always thought that the E39s styling lacked the sharpness of its predecessor, and the E60 was something of a return to form, albeit very differently. The facelift improved the E39 a lot.
