There's a reason RR have been dragging their heels launching this..... they don't want to, but they have to, just to look halfway current with their competitors. Competitors like Porsche, M-B, Bentley and even BMW and Lexus, who see absolutely zero profit in luxury SUV EVs. Porsche's walkback of the electric Macan is the proof of trying to sell these things. Convenience sells. Hassle tanks. We did 205 miles coming back from Cardiff in the X5 over the weekend, and you just don't have to consider the range in that at all, and it is a nice convenience to have as you say. I often wonder how an electric X5 would get on in comparison too, not as well I'd imagine. What a load of rowlocks....I did 550 miles in a Ford Explorer recently and at no point did I worry about the range. It was more, where are we stopping for lunch, toilet, etc and whilst we're there we'll charge whilst we're doing it. Out of the 3 stops, all 3 were completed before we were ready to proceed, so we held up the car, and not the other way round.I can absolutely guarantee even before it's launched, that the upcoming iX5 won't do the same range as the X5 40d does, and that's what I'm getting at.
