I have a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX, but I suspect my question can be generalized to apply to many smaller cars. Not being a fan of donut spare tires, when I replaced my tires about a year ago I kept the one that was in the best shape, mounted on a used steel rim that the shop sold me for cheap. Much to my chagrin, the now full-sized spare does not fit in the well designed for the donut, so it's taking up space in my trunk (and sliding around a bit despite the bungees). Whilst it is only as loud as a clanking keyring, the odd thing is that the noise is made at irregular moments, nothing to do with speed or turning. The hood doesn't stay open. The hood uses two gas struts to be opened and they failed causing the hood to slam into my head and neck. The hood doesn't have a prop up bar which can keep the hood propped open. My car is a 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid with 70,000 miles on it. I've recently purchases a manual transmission 1.5 Honda Mobilio. Which claimed to be a drive by wire vehicle and I assume it really is (don't know how to tell if a car is drive by wire). I am a new driver and on my observation, when I take the key out, the steering is ultra hard to turn at all compared to me turning the key to II or ON. The user manual also says, steering may be disabled when car is off or hard to control when the car is off, warning me about free wheeling down a hill with the car off. TOYOTA needs to amend their vehicle specs. The actual mileage on the car after my 4.5 years of ownership was TOTALLY different than what was claimed. Upon purchase I was able to achieve 44 mpg, and when fueling completely the remaining distance on the display read about 400 miles. Now I can only achieve 22 mpg and when fueling vehicle completely it now reads 320 miles remaining. This is a LIE and must be admitted by Toyota that it is a grim underestimate.
