I love the colour and the overall design of these for sure, but they felt expensive for the performance versus other stuff at the time though I thought.

Something my driving instructor told me back in the early 90s and that I’ve applied with additional seconds added for poor road and weather conditions for over 3 decades.I seem to remember it being on a public service advertisement back when media was way less fragmented.So on a rainy Thursday what are your motoring mantras?

Such a shame to see what has become of the Volvo brand specifically. They used to make some great, functional, comfortable interiors. Hard to believe now, but they had a reputation for safety as the pioneered things like seatbelts and crumple zones while keeping things very ergonomic, allowing the driver to concentrate on the road ahead.Edited by ducnick on Wednesday 19th August 09:37

I love the concept of needing £170k to pay for a car that will look like a really good example of one you could get for £10k. I suppose that in many ways it's the same as a Savile Row suit; let's pay £6k for something handbuilt and super-exclusive, that looks like it could have been bought for a tenth of the price. Or explaining to one's significant other that it is really better than buying a new car for the same price.
