Well not exactly but way back in the 1970s I drove a friend’s 1600GT and thought “what a great car, I could fancy one of these” however I was always into convertibles and there I stayed. Until yesterday.A train from Oban to Sheffield on Wednesday and a drive home yesterday, over 350 miles in a 2.8 injection that has hardly turned a wheel since 2019. Pushing my luck, nope all went well (ish). A steady 50 to 60mph with odd bursts to 70mph and an hour in slow moving traffic on the Edinburgh Bypass with no obvious problems although there is a few rumbles and grumbles from down below that need inve

I've wanted a red Ford SVT Lightning for around 8 years, but I never seemed to find the right one.At one point I thought I'd found it in Leeds, but after digging into the MOT history and finding evidence of welding repairs and missing parts, I decided to walk away. It was disappointing at the time, but looking back it was definitely the right decision.Then this one popped up for sale in Ireland. It’s a 1995 Griffith 500 (N reg) in the following spec:Giallo FlyNavy interior and roofWhite stitching on the seatsYellow trim on the carpetsYellow dialsOriginal Pioneer head unit!A few pictures including petrol station and stationary on the M25 shots. It’s a non-PAS and non-aircon car. Badge on the plenum is 500 HC but my understanding is that this was either whatever badge TVR had lying around or a truism/marketing on TVR’s part as all 5.0s were “highlift cam” cars!
