NDA said: The only multiple examples - and I am trying to think if there are any others - are:Aston x 2.5Morgan x 2Jaguar x 3Toyota x 2BMW x 2And then lots of single examples. I guess the manufacturer with which I had most affinity with would probably be Jaguar, but then it was from a particular moment in my life (30 years ago)... my first luxury car (XJR) and then two XKR convertibles - all bought brand new as company cars. Beautifully serviced by RA Creamer in Knightsbridge, the whole experience was a delight and a different era. How have you had 2.5 Aston Martin's? Was one the cygnet
1) BMW - Owned two, which makes up half of the cars I've ever owned, and I've driven quite a few more. Between just myself and my parents we've had at least one (often two and for a few years three) BMW(s) in the family continuously since about 2006, and for me that familiarity has bred the opposite of contempt. I'll reserve judgement until I drive them but the Neue Klasse EVs they're putting out look great, and for me they still drive better than the competition so I'll keep banging the drum for some time. My heart belongs to the older cars though, I adore my E92 M3 and most of my favourite BMWs are from before the millennium.2) MINI - Cheating slightly seeing as they're owned by BMW, but my first car was a leggy R50 One which I loved, and my Mum bought an R56 Cooper S brand new in 2008 which to my 10 year old self was about the most exciting thing that had happened to anyone ever. Reading a few other PHer's ownership threads of their MINIs (particularly the old R53 Cooper S's) has made me realise how much I love them and think they're true future classics. I will say I'm not a particular fan of their current offerings, having driven a few.3) Alfa Romeo - Again, a bit of nostalgia as my Dad had a 156 as a company car which to my young self seemed about as exotic as a Ferrari. I had a MiTo as a second car which despite essentially being a reskinned Corsa got under my skin and I loved owning it, and always got positive comments on it. Basically any 60s/70s Alfa is on my bucket list as a semi-attainable/usable classic to own and enjoy too, as is a Giulia Quadrifoglio.4) Porsche - Bit of a cliche but I think anyone who likes BMWs secretly wants to graduate to a Porsche one day. Admittedly they're another where the back catalogue appeals to me, and my only experience of driving a Porsche is a brief go in a Taycan GTS. Despite being about as far removed from an air-cooled 911 as you can get, the way it drove (particularly the steering) felt like nothing I'd driven before

I try to be as objective as I can with cars, not carry over any prejudices but like in all aspects of life (clothing, food, drink, electrical/audio equipment etc), there are brands that I am more drawn to and have more of an affinity/fondness with for varying reasons. So what would those 6 car manufacturers/brands be for you and why? Here are mine.1) Ford - this is mostly an age thing, as growing up in Britain in the 80s you were either team Ford, team Vauxhall or team Austin Rover and I was definitely team Ford. Why? Probably because of the Capri, XR Fords and RS Turbos and of course the
