A little addition to the fleet this weekend in the shape of a 2010 E82 125i. I've got a couple of cars that are at extremes, a Clio that is great for track days but terrible on the road and another BMW that is lovely for road trips but I'm too precious over it to use on track days and it's not really that kind of car for me anyway. I've done a fair few trips in my mates Cayman GT4 over the last 18 months and as you'd expect it does a great job at covering both bases. We've done 5 hour drives in relative comfort and then enjoyed it round a track for 10 hours before driving home again (not all o
Great taste OP, although I would say that as a former 125i owner and fellow E9x M3 owner. Unfortunately unlike you I wasn't able to have both, but mine did go off to a PHer who I think was planning a few 'fast road' sort of mods including an LSD and some suspension upgrades; no idea how far he's got with that though. If the want for a V8 hadn't been so strong I probably would've kept my 125i and gone down that route too as there's not a lot that I find as appealing (and still 'dailyable') for anywhere near what these are worth at the moment.Looks like yours might already be on spacers comparing how mine sat with yours, and possibly has Eibach (or other) springs too? I had the same wheels with Michelin PS5's, 225/245 instead of the standard 215/245 fitment, although be warned 225's will apparently rub with spacers and lowering springs.. These have the usual BMW oil leaks (valve cover, oil filter housing, oil cooler, and I think slightly more unique to the N52 is the sump gasket) and I think there's a recall out on them for the driver's airbag? Worth checking if it's subject to the VANOS screw recall too if it hasn't already been done, that'll get you the valve cover gasket done by BMW for free!Edited by Sofa on Monday 26th October 13:41

We took one to over 200k miles and other than a few stone chips it did wear its mileage incredible well. Our's was also a 525i SE Touring. Really nice car though the 525i never feels especially potent. It does the job though. Our's was starting to get very niggly by the time we moved it on. In the space of a few weeks I had to replace a starter motor, rear bags, wiper motor, a coil pack and a couple of other bits. Understandable at that mileage but it w

According to google its just passing around the dark side of the moon, drifting through the frozen vacuum of space (I ll get round to fixing that) 1000 miles into its return trip.Ancient history:Had this for about 12-13 years now, got it at around 60k, after my beloved and equally leggy 172 cup went into the back of an Elgrand HARD thanks to its lack of ABS. Got an auto 330ci shortly after too, was lovely, but horrendously rusty and crap at fitting mountain bikes in (the main passion), so ended up giving that to a mechanic mate during lockdown, over a weekend it was repainted, stripped, conver

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
