According to google its just passing around the dark side of the moon, drifting through the frozen vacuum of space (I ll get round to fixing that) 1000 miles into its return trip.Ancient history:Had this for about 12-13 years now, got it at around 60k, after my beloved and equally leggy 172 cup went into the back of an Elgrand HARD thanks to its lack of ABS. Got an auto 330ci shortly after too, was lovely, but horrendously rusty and crap at fitting mountain bikes in (the main passion), so ended up giving that to a mechanic mate during lockdown, over a weekend it was repainted, stripped, conver

Or is it the other way and changes the resting point? Interested to hear any more on that, ta. In other news, big, entirely legit, Bimbo ///N Sport calipers courtesy of Autodoc: Major decisions, what colour to paint them, torn between blue or silver... gold to match the original 6 pots that came as an option from the factory, would be the dream, but that would be too many layers of fraud? There are loads of guides online for fitting these, but they tend to be contradictory, so for the benefit of anyone else with a 130, or any other car with the 185mm handbrake, this is what I ended up with and seems to fit fine (disclaimer: front is perfect, but only test fitted the rear so far):Front calipers, standard 340mm fitment across all cars:34116799465 and 34116799466Front discs, standard 340mm as above:34116792223Rear calipers, standard 345mm fitment across all cars: 34216799461 and 34216799462You need to knock the bushings out and fit this offset kit from VYS: https://vysgarage.com/shop/ols/products/e9x-calipe...Rear discs off a 5 series: 34216763827No need to change brake hoses, minor trimming of brake shields, it's a only a quick dremel job..I went full silver on my Brembo 340mm brakes; here on the 130i LE project I did: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Paired with Brembo 2 piece 340mm discs and Pagid Street+ pds and HEL lines - superb braking For rears I stuck with OE and fitted OE discs and pads - IMO unless you're going to absolutely hammer it on track / or you want the looks, the rear Brembo kit isn't n

We took one to over 200k miles and other than a few stone chips it did wear its mileage incredible well. Our's was also a 525i SE Touring. Really nice car though the 525i never feels especially potent. It does the job though. Our's was starting to get very niggly by the time we moved it on. In the space of a few weeks I had to replace a starter motor, rear bags, wiper motor, a coil pack and a couple of other bits. Understandable at that mileage but it w
A little addition to the fleet this weekend in the shape of a 2010 E82 125i. I've got a couple of cars that are at extremes, a Clio that is great for track days but terrible on the road and another BMW that is lovely for road trips but I'm too precious over it to use on track days and it's not really that kind of car for me anyway. I've done a fair few trips in my mates Cayman GT4 over the last 18 months and as you'd expect it does a great job at covering both bases. We've done 5 hour drives in relative comfort and then enjoyed it round a track for 10 hours before driving home again (not all o

Hope this is in the right place. I couldn't see another location that fitted this tbh. Hello All,Project here with, well, my project. I know a lot of you like a build thread so I'm bringing you one with a slight difference. It's much bigger than you will be used to. And not because I'm trying to push a Merlin engine into a Lamborghini SV. It's because it weighs 12 tons, has four wheel drive and locking diffs and will eventually go around the world (hopefully). Sadly it will only 56mph, but 15mpg to the gallon it won't feel far off the usual pistonhead fill up experience The idea is to take a m
