I’d considered that but wasn’t sure if they all needed power etc. I guess they would for backlighting. It kind of ties in with why the radio wiring didn’t appear to be routed out of the radio location any longer too.

We drove around doing "action" shots at 40mph with him in the back of an Austin Maxi with the hatch open, and me following.Then we did some "proper" action shots with him taking pics from a lying-down position near the chicane, and me driving at rather more than 40mph. The Golf felt as if it would pound around all day, but the Escort could do no more than two hot laps before it fried its brakes and had to be parked up to cool off. It also suffered from turbo lag, and the fuel warning light and buzzer would come on during high-speed cornering, which was unnerving.Another Escort Turbo appeared, which was driven by a mate of my journo friend, and this one had been lowered,, stiffened and the wick turned up to make it rather quicker than when it left the factory.It was horrible - a combination of the track surface and rock-hard suspension with ultra-low profile tyres resulting in no compliance other than the driver's spine meant that it was just about undriveable, it really was bad. At least it stopped, though, so I was able to get back to the Golf, and very grateful I was, too.VW really got the MkII 16v right, and it deserves to be viewed as a classic now. Been using an X1 all week, my eldests daily as he borrowed my Jaguar XJ for a trip up to Scotland.Didnt really relish the prospect as always thought it a bit of a boring lump but after a few days with it, I have to say I gelled with it.2.0 diesel Xdrive, goes ok but what impressed me was the ride and handling, was thinking would be a bit roly poly but I threw it about a bit and its amazingly competent and even, dare I say it, quite good fun. Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. I kept scrolling but would see it popping up for about a week and a half.About a week into the occasional glance and some wishful thinking about the sort of car I would turn it into I showed Mrs. Jim. Normally she would roll her eyes and pat me on the head and tell me "ok", this time she said "why not go and have a look?" We turn up at this yard and it is stacked out in classic cars which just amazed me, they had
