It was banned from Europe but has surpassed 100,000 in sales over a 4 year period and is doing well in other parts of the world which is great considering it is banned from 1 major market.The 2.0 MX5 was killed off because of emissions not because it was not selling. Mazda managing to keep selling a car that is a decade old shows it can still make money from it. An enthusiasts car to me is an Alpine A110, Alfa 4C, Lotus Exige etc. yes I would include the MX5 in that but as a proportion of Mazda sales it s tiny. Have a look in your local Tesco car park next time you go shopping, assuming you don t have a butler, how many cars are really enthusiasts cars?
