Fantastic choice, both colour and wheel selection! They now offer an amazing blue on the Octa, saw it at Goodwood in this and as much as I love the gold, this would be my choice.
Lovely car, OP! Quhet said: I do think the branding of LR products is a bit confused however. There seems to have been several performance variants of these (X, V8, OCTA). Is this basically the 'ultimate' version now? I wonder why LR didn't use the already well established SV/SVR moniker, as OCTA doesn't really seem make much senseEdited by Quhet on Wednesday 12th November 11:26 X is a trim level. V8 is an engine within a trim level (only available in the top level X trim, AFAIK). They've done special editions, which is generally just an enhanced trim level.OCTA is, as you say, the "ultimate" version. I assume they went with that because SV/SVR are more focussed on performance/luxury, whereas the OCTA, named after a diamond, is showing it's the top version from an off road sense - tough yet still an element of luxury, I guess.Something like that, anyway!

Tiglon said: Hate these. I used to work in Marlow which had width restriction bollards at each end of the bridge (they've been removed now, so it's just a kerb instead which is bad but not quite as bad). In theory, they were 2m at both ends of the bridge, but I discovered that these could be adjusted (and had been adjusted) so that one end was wider. This meant that vehicles slightly wider than 2m could get on the bridge, but couldn't get off the other side...I had to help take them off at the narrower end because a Land Rover towing a trailer with a bull in it had got through one end of the

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
