It s also something of a school run special so the Ineos ( yes.I ve tried one) looks increasingly Land Rover in its ruggedness. I have had a Defender 4.5yrs. I live in a semi rural town. My son went to a private school in the nearby city. I can t say It s also something of a school run special is an accurate description. I think there were 2 other parents at his school with one out of 800 students and I have never seen another at any of the 4 schools near us. I call bobbins on yet another lazy Daily Mail generalisation. You take as you find, but most of my post referred to the other urban runabout remark on here. I pass the local primary school regularly ( often the result of bad planning). During one week I noticed a current Defender, a Grenadier and a G Wagen. Howzat? Incidentally, I wasn t on here to criticise the Defender, I was posting to highlight the unintended consequences , almost ironic at times ,when a car which can perform off road often is not required to do that. As a former Land Cruiser driver I may be more attracted to the rugged looks of the Ineos. Edited by Lester H on Friday 16th October 12:56 I agree ref the unintended consequences but fashion is a fickle thing. Those that don’t need or value the utilitarian qualities will move onto the next thing no doubt. I think this is evidenced by all the tik tok and instagram users driving Jaecoo and Omada small suv type cars it’s a cheaper shiny thing. I think the Grenadier is ok but as I said before a bit too agricultural for me.

I used to work in Marlow which had width restriction bollards at each end of the bridge (they've been removed now, so it's just a kerb instead which is bad but not quite as bad). In theory, they were 2m at both ends of the bridge, but I discovered that these could be adjusted (and had been adjusted) so that one end was wider. This meant that vehicles slightly wider than 2m could get on the bridge, but couldn't get off the other side...I had to help take them off at the narrower end because a Land Rover towing a trailer with a bull in it had got through one end of the

I've chucked 16k a year on mine for the last couple of years commuting to Sussex. It's in for a quieter life now I've got an EV for the commute but I love it, it's not going anywhere. Please accept my apologies if I haven't been paying attention, but are you saying that you pay a garage £16,000.00 a year and you think they are a good garage?I think he’s chucked on 16k miles a year on the car.
