I've always love BMWs, my uncle had an E36 318i Touring when I was a kid and I loved it, that was where my obsession with them began. Over the years I've liked pretty much every BMW made, some took a few years for me to grow to like but even the modern ones still get my appreciation. Out of all those cars though, there were 2 that really stood out to me as special cars, the E60 M5 and the E90 M3. In my opinion a golden era of BMW design and build quality. These two in particular attracted me because of their (perhaps vague) links to the BMW F1 involvement at the time, the nerd in me loved it.

Part of me wants to keep it fairly original and I'm not totally against a bit of chrome but I dunno. Side trips on the wings are going black, I'm getting a new chrome M3 badge for the boot so maybe keep the grills and just have those bits chrome. Might not look too out of place. You could consider getting the fuel injectors changed too (Bosch PN is 0280158164) for the same reason.Personally, I prefer gloss black grilles on an Alpine White car (which is what mine has) and my favourite wheels are the 359M wheels that came as standard with the Competition Pack, with the caveat that they must (IMHO) be silver, not black. There's usually some refurbished sets around - try the Facebook page or M3Cutters; both good resources.Final suggestion, contact ModStock for advice on the exhaust. Mine has a ModStock 1.75 backbox modification and I think sounds perfect, but the exhaust looks completely stock. Thanks you, injectors shall be added to the list now, I'd not seen much about those being an issue. I'll try and squeeze them in before Germany in September. 359m wheels are very nice, I've got some 513m wheels to go on it but they'll need a refurb first. My mate had an E92 years ago and the noise it made was fantastic so as soon as it's back from the RBs & TAs it's going straight in for that too! It sounds decent now but I can't wait for that to be done. Edited by Pizzaeatingking on Sunday 5th October 14:09

We took one to over 200k miles and other than a few stone chips it did wear its mileage incredible well. Our's was also a 525i SE Touring. Really nice car though the 525i never feels especially potent. It does the job though. Our's was starting to get very niggly by the time we moved it on. In the space of a few weeks I had to replace a starter motor, rear bags, wiper motor, a coil pack and a couple of other bits. Understandable at that mileage but it w
A little addition to the fleet this weekend in the shape of a 2010 E82 125i. I've got a couple of cars that are at extremes, a Clio that is great for track days but terrible on the road and another BMW that is lovely for road trips but I'm too precious over it to use on track days and it's not really that kind of car for me anyway. I've done a fair few trips in my mates Cayman GT4 over the last 18 months and as you'd expect it does a great job at covering both bases. We've done 5 hour drives in relative comfort and then enjoyed it round a track for 10 hours before driving home again (not all o

According to google its just passing around the dark side of the moon, drifting through the frozen vacuum of space (I ll get round to fixing that) 1000 miles into its return trip.Ancient history:Had this for about 12-13 years now, got it at around 60k, after my beloved and equally leggy 172 cup went into the back of an Elgrand HARD thanks to its lack of ABS. Got an auto 330ci shortly after too, was lovely, but horrendously rusty and crap at fitting mountain bikes in (the main passion), so ended up giving that to a mechanic mate during lockdown, over a weekend it was repainted, stripped, conver

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
