Heavy vehicles are more dangerous for the vehicles that they crash into. They also produce more pollution from their tyres.Even if any of that is true [doubtful]Being an EV it s emitting much less pollution, practically zero brake dust and runs on renewable energy. On the tyres-> My Golf R Estate (1.5t) tyres lasted 12k miles -> BMW 520d Touring (1.8t) : 20k miles-> BMW iX EV (2.3t) : still going well above the legal limit after 30k milesSo yeah - BS to your tyre theory! The lightest car in the list, wore its tyres out the quickest, and the heaviest car the least, by a long way. It s almost like the weight of the car isn t the only factor with regards to how quickly they wear out Edited by SDK on Thursday 3rd September 16:06 I wasn't talking about EVs. That's not my obsession. Most vehicles are on pretty regular - i.e. non-sporty - tyres. Take that into account, and weight will be a factor.Heavy vehicles are more dangerous for the vehicles that they crash into because physics.'People in a light vehicle are three times more likely to get seriously injured when in collision with a much bigger car than one of similar weight; and for pedestrians and cyclists, the risk of death rises 30% if the bonnet of the car that hits them is 10cm higher than average.''In the decade from 2010, the International Energy Agency found that “SUVs were the second-largest contributor to the increase in global CO2 emissions” after the power sector, but ahead of heavy industry, trucks and aviation. Emissions from the motor sector could have fallen 30% more between 2010 and 2022 if car sizes hadn’t grown.'Feel free to look those up.SUVs are more dangerous and more polluting. And very few people need them.

Yeah mines on 91k now, it does feel the same as when I got it 30k ago but it would probably benefit from a bit of love. Thats not a bad quote actually, I've been getting more around the £650 mark around the Reading/Basingstoke area. I wonder as well if the diff would benefit from a change as it does get big slugs of torque fired into it

I saw one of these in the southbound petrol station at Liphook on the A3, must be around 20 years ago (it was still a production model at the time). I was in that queue to pay when it turned up, and the owner ended up behind me in the queue. Asked him if it was a Fighter, "Yes it is." He had something of the Ace Rimmer about him. bd. Apologies if this is you.
