1995 VW 골프의 1단 진입이 매우 어려움. 시프터를 완전히 좌측으로 밀고 전진시키면 3단으로 들어감.
처리 내용
횡치 엔진 FWD 자동차(VW 포함)의 기어 링키지는 플라스틱 부시가 있는 볼 조인트로 구성되어 있으며, 시간이 지나면서 고장날 수 있음. 좌우 움직임용 링키지와 전후 움직임용 링키지 두 세트가 있을 것으로 예상됨. 좌우 링키지 고장으로 추정됨 - 2단, 4단 대신 5단이 들어가는지 확인. 링키지의 각 바(bar)에 볼 조인트 바로 앞에 지퍼 타이를 감아서 함께 묶어 볼 조인트가 분리되는 것을 방지하는 방법이 일반적인 해결책. 덜 가능성 있는 원인은 기어박스 마운트 고장으로, 기어박스가 약간 내려앉아 링키지 정렬이 틀어질 수 있으나 다른 증상도 나타날 것으로 예상됨.
