GianiCakes said: I test drove the Octa last week and friggin loved it. I ve also driven a 911 Dakar and the thing they have in common is that they are both way more fun than you expect. I m in CH and would be seriously interested if it weren t for the ridiculous list price here which is the equivalent of GBP 235k. My BiL in the US can get one for $150k which is literally half the Swiss price. Bear in mind that s even not a tax difference as VAT is 8% versus 20% in the UK and there s no punitive car specific tax; as there is in NL for example. I think they re just asking what they believe the
So folks, apologies for not providing an update sooner but this afternoon, for reasons that will become clear, I have some time on my hands. We had a good trip down that was pretty uneventful and arrived in Erfoud yesterday. The car was actually great on the road and munched up the miles with ease. The first stage this morning had to be modified due to previous rains and a very slippery course. We started well and found our feet quickly. Sadly a bit too quickly and my enthusiasm exceeded my ability. I crossed a dune too fast and hit the ground on the down slope with an unpleasant crunch. There was fairly minor damage to the lower bumper but the radiator had been hit and was pouring out coolant. The car has been taken on a flatbed (with us inside it!) to Garage Royal who are currently disassembling it as we speak. I will keep you posted!

Tiglon said: Hate these. I used to work in Marlow which had width restriction bollards at each end of the bridge (they've been removed now, so it's just a kerb instead which is bad but not quite as bad). In theory, they were 2m at both ends of the bridge, but I discovered that these could be adjusted (and had been adjusted) so that one end was wider. This meant that vehicles slightly wider than 2m could get on the bridge, but couldn't get off the other side...I had to help take them off at the narrower end because a Land Rover towing a trailer with a bull in it had got through one end of the

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
