If you are unaware of the term, Festival Of The Unexceptional for which I think the cut-off is 25+ years old ie 2001 or older.  I'm a little disillusioned at the moment in that there aren't really any what I consider to be modern enough to be daily drivable but "special" cars in my budget ie practical enough for family duties, with a nice engine and without exorbitant running costs.  That said, there are plenty of ordinary cars that I am happy to drive on a daily basis that meet my requirements apart from the "special" bit, so I have been thinking that a cheapish and sensible daily and a "mode

Was expecting this to be dirt cheap, didn't realise these W204s commanded that kind of money.Still pretty remarkable value, I'd love a wagon version if petrol wasn't so ridiculously expensive. Pity about the tints on this one. Another nice car ruined by chav glass!

2007 Opel Vectra GTS 2.2 (Z22YH) - P0130-52 오류 (뱅크1 전산소 센서1과 센서2 간 신뢰성 없음). 교체 전 상류 산소센서(촉매 전단)는 유휴 시 1.5~2V로 측정됨 (정상은 1V 이하). 새 센서 장착 후 5V로 표시되며, 정상 오류 없음. 그러나 회전수를 올리면 동일한 P0130-52 오류 재발생. 고압 연료펌프 문제는 별도로 미해결 상태.

얼터네이터 교환

2007 포드 머스탱 6기통. 운전 후 배터리가 완전히 방전됨. 점프 스타트 후 시동은 걸리지만 케이블 제거 후 공회전 중에 엔진이 꺼짐. 멀티미터로 확인 시 엔진을 2000RPM까지 올리면 배터리 전압이 12V에서 14V로 상승(발전기 작동하는 것으로 보임). 하지만 공회전 상태에서는 전압이 떨어지고 다시 점프 스타트 필요.

다이하츠 코펜(L880K) 오버헤드 크로스바 강도 개선 작업 - 기존 전소유자가 제작한 오버헤드 크로스바의 전부가 T자형으로 되어 있어 강도상 효율적이지 않아 추가 바를 설치하여 개선하기로 함

배터리 교환

2009 혼다 Jazz가 코로나 제한으로 인해 사용 빈도가 낮아짐. 배터리 상태가 좋지 않아 주 1회 15-20분 주행으로도 배터리 완전 방전 우려. 도로에 주차되어 있음.

2006 Chevy Malibu: 주행등이 자동차 꺼진 상태에서 무작위로 켜짐. 라이트 스위치가 OFF 위치인데도 불구하고 켜지며, 때로는 꺼지지 않아 배터리 방전. 내부 라이트는 OFF 상태. 좌측 방향지시등 레버(턴 시그널 스톡)가 ON 위치에서 유지되지 않음.

To me FOTU is about the nostalgia of cars which used to be commonplace and are now rare - "don't see many of those any more". Cars which used to form the backdrop of daily life, but have now almost all been scrapped, leaving a handful of survivors to represent their fallen comrades.
