2004 Jeep Wrangler에서 Mobile 1 합성유와 Bosch 필터로 교환한 후 엔진음이 눈에 띄게 조용해짐. 이전에는 저가 광물유와 FRAM 필터를 사용했음.

35-50 km/h 속도에서 정지할 때만 RPM이 크게 떨어졌다가 700 RPM으로 돌아오기를 반복하며 변동함. 클러치 페달을 밟으면 즉시 RPM 변동이 멈춤. 클러치를 계속 밟은 상태로 정지하면 RPM 변동이 발생하지 않음. 브레이크나 엔진 브레이킹 상관없이 발생하므로 진공 시스템과는 무관한 것으로 보임. 정상 주행 중이나 일정 속도 유지 시에는 문제 없음.

1989 Toyota Corolla 4도어 수동, 190,000마일. 시동이 걸리면 잘 돌아감. 간헐적인 시동 불가(크랭킹 없음) 문제 발생. 클러치를 밟고(중립 상태) 키를 돌리면 한 번의 클릭음만 들리고 그 이상 반응 없음. 헤드라이트 등은 정상 작동. 몇 번 시도하면 간헐적으로 시동이 걸림. 아내가 시동할 때는 더 잘 걸리는 경향 있음. 배터리 음극 케이블을 잠깐 분리했다가 다시 연결하면 시동이 걸리기도 함. 그러나 항상 효과는 없음.

약 1년간 ABS 경고등이 간헐적으로 켜졌다 꺼졌다 반복되다가, 지난 2주일간 브레이크 페달에 문제 발생. ABS 경고등이 켜진 상태에서 저속(시속 5-10마일)으로 주행 중 핸들을 돌리면서 동시에 브레이크를 밟을 때 페달이 펄싱(맥박처럼 뛰는 현상)되고 제동거리가 급격히 증가함.
