tallpaul26 said: According to the painter, yes. Apparently modern clear coats have UV filters that reduce the sun damage to reds so should help prevent lacquer peel. Not much of this car was factory paint anyway as the bonnet, scuttle, offside door and rear quarter and the boot lid had all been repainted due to lacquer peel! The whole car will now be the same shade of red, which is nice. Yeah, red doesn't blend nicely with pre-existing paint. I had a Mk4 Ford Escort as my first car and that was various shades of red/orange! Should look spot on when it's done.
