So having long been an admirer of all things Porsche, and having come close a few times before, Iโve finally bought one. Here in RoI we have extortionate import taxes on anything newer than 30 years old, so the car had to remain out of the country until its 30th birthday. That occurred last week so now, instead of what would have been probably โฌ10k import and โฌ1500 pa RFL, itโs โฌ200 to import and get Irish plates and then โฌ56 pa RFL. Makes it possible to keep it available to drive throughout the year thenAlso, because itโs been a Northern Ireland car for years it means itโs not liable to Brexit-related costs of VAT (21%) and duty (10%)On the wheels, while Iโd like to keep it standard I just love the red colour, and feel itโs in keeping with the slightly mad look of the car. Same with the cage and harnesses, as I donโt plan to track it but itโs still part of the appeal. Luckily the wheels are only painted to look like diamond-cut, so they still have the proper rounded edge. Jaz have recommended a local wheel refurbisher so they should be set for the summerHope your one is driving well! By the way, is the 968 registry still going?

Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. I kept scrolling but would see it popping up for about a week and a half.About a week into the occasional glance and some wishful thinking about the sort of car I would turn it into I showed Mrs. Jim. Normally she would roll her eyes and pat me on the head and tell me "ok", this time she said "why not go and have a look?" We turn up at this yard and it is stacked out in classic cars which just amazed me, they had

Been using an X1 all week, my eldests daily as he borrowed my Jaguar XJ for a trip up to Scotland.Didnt really relish the prospect as always thought it a bit of a boring lump but after a few days with it, I have to say I gelled with it.2.0 diesel Xdrive, goes ok but what impressed me was the ride and handling, was thinking would be a bit roly poly but I threw it about a bit and its amazingly competent and even, dare I say it, quite good fun.
