Go woke go broke. What's the point of Jaguars USP when any old Chinese EV maker can give you a super smooth 500bhp car with effortless torque and eery refinement for under £50 grand? When Tesla gives you much the same with the added benefit of a luxury charging network? Would it just be beauty?That's about the only thing they could possibly conjure as a point of difference but I doubt they can comply with a myriad of technical parameters for a global car AND make something gorgeous looking. The only way of making something quite different would be to not package the battery as a skateboard

No one is going to compare the Jaguar with a BYD Seal, in the same way that no one looks at a Porsche Taycan 4S or a BMW i7 and says - I will have the BYD for half the price of those cars, or looks at a Mercedes eqs 580 and says - I will take the Seal and save £90K, in the same way that no one looks at a Rolls Royce Cullinan and says - I could have an MG HS and save £270K.Which of Tesla's dumpy looking cars is a rival for a Taycan? That is what the Jaguar is aiming at, not Tesla. And what is luxury about a charging network? Hanging around a grotty motorway service station?If I want to travel from my house, North on the motorway, a journey that is 45 miles, I would have to make a 10 mile detour to find a Tesla Supercharger or travel further than my destination. The detour one is in the car park of a garden centre next to a busy main road. The one further than my destination is at a motorway services. What is luxury about that? Luxury is a petrol station on the route and no detour and no hanging around waiting for the car to charge up. Nothing about charging an battery car is anything but a hassle, inconvenience and a delay. And at an average public charger rate of 67p/KwH, it's expensive, before the horrendous depreciation of a battery car is taken into account.Edited by LucyP on Thursday 21st November 03:30

In a multi story that I was using earlier this evening, the MOT ran out in May 24. I do find the car park ones odd, I've seen other seemingly abandoned cars in other car parks, I'd love to know the reasons.

Useful update and great you're enjoying itMany will tell you to get the gearbox serviced, my zf8 is on easy motorway 160k and not bothered, and the car will soon depart so I don't care My sos battery went at 5 yrs so to save a trip to the garage and an annoying warning I'd get that done, tpms sensors last 5-7 years in my experience so could be good preventative measure

Well the AMG went and the Shark 6 has arrived. It was a better choice for me to be honest, with wanting to go into the dunes (see later on in the post how that went, rookie error) and for putting the kids bikes in etc etc - The long warranty and at the price they are it was a no brainer. So I had never head of this until moving to Dubai a few months back, test drove one and it was quicker than the previous Raptor I trialled so it now had my interest.
