It has been a relatively quiet 2 months on the car and bike front but there are some updates!RX7She came out of storage and basically took a trip straight to the bodyshop to get the spoiler quoted for as this had to get done. No longer could I deal with peeling paint! Then off for an MOT, which she obviously passed with flying colours.A week or so went by and I whipped the spoiler off the old girl ready for drop off.Gosh, that is alot of gunk on the lid!All the bits disassembled and on the floor. Unfortunately one bolt snapped off, so that had to get drilled out.Just a little example of some o

As I am now exempt from the ban, although obviously I won't be going crazy with the hosepipe!MCSSo over the last week or so I've been tinkering and doing some minor bits and bobs on the Mini. Reminded myself that it needed a pollen filter change. That looks like it was needed. Then I decided to check and clean out the airbox, good thing I did really. I have one of the ye olde hobo airbox mods from Orranje. The piece of pipe that gets modded in to go through the skuttle has basically come properly loose and now slides in and out at will So I took it apart.Got my trusty tiger seal out and did my best bodge and sealed it all in again.Cleaned the filter out and the bottom of the airbox and popped it back into place. It was also a good thing I had the tiger seal out, as my grill has broken, now these grills have these really silly plastic studs that have waffy metal washers that screw over to hold them in place. Obviously over time, they break or strip the threads. So I stuck them down and as long as we don't have some mental temperatures too soon, it should hold![/url]Moving to the back of the car, I decided to do a job that I have been putting off for ages and that is replacing the boot handle gasket. The old one fell apart and I got some water out of the boot switch. Cleaned up the verdegris off the number plate lights and fitted a new lense as I broke one taking it off. Whoops. Before:After:At this point I had decided to get read of the rear washer/wiper. I'd had no luck finding the correct facelift clip that goes over the washer nozzle and I had a sneaky suspicion that the gro

The last thing I need is another car, particularly a 20 year old one purchased sight unseen on eBay .The background to considering a Mini - earlier this year I met a group of online friends at Blyton Park for a group track day.We are all part of the breakaway from the Best Smoker Barge ยฃ1k-ยฃ5k thread when things became โdifficultโ a few years ago.I attended the track day in my 718 Cayman 4.0 GTS , great fun but I felt it might have been better suited to a track with longer straights and fewer tight corners necessitating a lot of braking , accelerating followed by braking again. We are doing it
