MDifficult said: When we arrived at Calais it was... chaos. We arrived at 2pm for our 3:30 train and basically sat in one long queue until we eventually made it on at nearly 6pm. 4 hours of queuing in 34 degree heat. Cars were overheating, breaking down, people losing their tempers, all over the shop.Small world! The MINI decided to throw me for a bit of a loop this weekend... Ever since we've owned it, every once in a while it would say that a brake light bulb was out on the drivers side, but it would then go away again. However, it started doing it more often and a bit of internet research said it was either a bulb or a common problem with the earth pin on the tail light connector going bad. No problem - Saturday morning I open up the little access panel in the boot with a new bulb and my can of contact cleaner at the ready and... oh.. interesting.. some enterprising 'mechanic' had run a red wire from one of the tracks on the bulb holder directly to the where the body earth attaches to the chassis, and the retaining slider for the connector was broken. Clearly.. someone had been here before. I removed the bodgery (which explains the intermittent nature of the issue)...Inspecting the connector, it was easy to see why they'd had to do the bodge, the earth pin was completely mullered and, checking the bulb holder... the earth pin was completely gone! Again, internet suggests this is a very common issue and the solution (clearly) is a new connector and a new bulb holder. Nipped to BMW for both, cut off the dead connector, crimped a new terminal onto the earth wire, re-pinned everything, connected everything up and...Nope. Problem. Lights fine, brake lights fine, indicators fine but every time I went for reverse... fault. I changed the bulbs. Nope. Okay, must be my wiring so I took the connector apart, re-did everything and... nope. Same issue. At this point, my friendly neighbourhood MINI mechanic (lives a few doors down) kindly stopped by and we pondered for a while. Out came the multimeter (these things are so much easier with two) and we re-checked all my twice-done wiring. It was perfect. A 2 minute job that should have been a bulb and a squirt of contact cleaner had descended into this... In the end, in a moment of inspiration, we decided to check if the bulb holder on th

I've always love BMWs, my uncle had an E36 318i Touring when I was a kid and I loved it, that was where my obsession with them began. Over the years I've liked pretty much every BMW made, some took a few years for me to grow to like but even the modern ones still get my appreciation. Out of all those cars though, there were 2 that really stood out to me as special cars, the E60 M5 and the E90 M3. In my opinion a golden era of BMW design and build quality. These two in particular attracted me because of their (perhaps vague) links to the BMW F1 involvement at the time, the nerd in me loved it.

2014년식 Cherokee가 2023년경 정비소 방문 이후 지속적인 과열 문제 발생. 이전에는 정상 작동(210°F 이하)했으나 현재 워밍업 후 항상 210°F 이상 유지되며, 긴 언덕이나 부하 상황에서 235°F까지 급상승하여 'check gauges' 경고 표시. 시동을 끄고 후드를 열어서 다시 시동하면 세 개의 전기 팬(electric fan)이 빠르게 냉각시켜 210°F까지 급강하. 이 현상이 반복적으로 확인되고 열총(heat gun)으로도 검증됨.

I had a Dame Edna with this engine, picked it up for buttons and put about 40,000 on it and it only needed a tyre, an idler pulley, an ABS ring and a coolant return pipe. Absolutely fantastic cars - great power, good economy and I could do everything myself on the drive. Will always have a soft spot for them. Already had the uprated swirl flap bar too. Enjoy!

운전 중 갑자기 자동차가 무거워지면서 힘이 없어짐. 가스 스테이션에서 시동을 끔. 다시 시동을 걸려고 하니 크랭크는 되지만 바로 꺼짐. 2일 방치 후 돌아갔을 때 시동이 아예 안 걸리고 모터만 맴 (크랭킹음만 남). 계기판에 빨간색 냉각수 경고등이 나타남. 온도 게이지가 완전히 내려감.
