So good to see one being worked on and tinkered with, thanks for taking the effort to write these things up and take the pictures as you go etc
I got around to polishing the car with Poorboys Black hole and then used some Dodo Juice wax, turned out lovely! I didn't spend hours upon hours on it as I'm really not one for polishing cars or detailing, I'd much rather drive them and look at the stone chips as souvenirs from adventures. This was a great result for the outlay though and something I can top up every couple of months to keep it looking good.Aside from the polishing it's been a pretty busy time looking back and the more I experience the car the more I'm enjoying it. Now I've owned the car for 6 months it's been a brilliant experience and I have no regrets. The Corvette is definitely more useable and “better” but it's a dream come true to have the Viper for which I feel very fortunate and every drive is a real event. Seeing other peoples enthusiasm and excitement only adds to the feeling.First up I had a quick blinking indicator. A look around showed the front left not working. Upon closer inspection the bulb had just fallen out of the holder. It was quite a daunting task retrieving it. A good Viper headlight is about £4k (!!!!) but getting access was easy. The wheel arch liner just unbolted and the back of the headlight housing is held on with some wing nuts. I used one of those telescopic grabber tools to get the bulb orientated so I could retrieve it. Happily it has stayed in since.Next up my last bit of preventative maintenance. I had bought a complete set of silicone heater & radiator hoses. The rubber OEM ones are unobtainable now. None of mine were leaking but the lower radiator hose was very swollen and some of the heater hoses cracking. At the same time I replaced the power steering pump pulley for a metal one. The factory one is plastic with a metal bushing moulded in. Once it inevitably cracks then the car throws the belt and you're stuck. The pump is shared with a Jeep Wrangler and for £60 I just bought a whole new pump to fit my pulley too, an easy way to avoid struggl

Romeford said: Thank you. Mrs Romeford has accepted that she now has to share me! I think she could easily be a rust bucket or a pristine example. It's down to me where she ends up and I get to learn spanners! I do wonder what she will be like when all the jobs are done! Is this Mrs Romeford or Francesca you’re now referring to? …….

Glad you're ok, and a warm welcome to the 'Small car vs Mercedes 4x4' club. Membership is now 2 of us . I was in my Smart Fortwo and got rear ended by a Mercedes ML. Hopefully the Twizy is fixable.

Next up, we can't go past Switzerland without hitting some passes:https://maps.app.goo.gl/UdFDabEdEW6LpAdr8We leave Bolzano and suck up single lane Italian life. There are heaps of Apple orchards as we go further up into the mountains with some funny little tractors pulling apple carts going the other direction. We laugh. Then a less funny little tractor pulling apples pulls out in front of us and proceeds to do 30kph and it's way to busy to get past him. We don't laugh. Up the top of whatever traffic clogged pass this is there's the sight we've come for. "Luigi, you gonna be in a lotta troubl
