It's that time of year again....I've now had the car five years and added 16,201 miles, so it's time for the now-traditional annual analysis of costs...In the last 12 months:£6,086.59 - (previous years - £4,323, £2,112, £14,773, £3,101)1,261 miles driven - significantly less than the 4,314 of the previous year and the 4,442 of the year before that - no Scottish road trip this year after three trips north of the border in the previous two years. The bulk of this year's expenditure was a new twin-plate clutch at David Appleby Engineering. The previous clutch wasn't slipping, but the release bearing was getting a bit noisy, so I decided to bite the bullet rather than risk being stranded somewhere with no drive. Turns out it was a wise move, as the friction plates were quite worn - probably only another few thousand miles left in it.Other large spend was on a secondhand pair of wheels (same 20-spoke design) and a diamond-cut refurb.Smaller stuff was new wheel centres for the refurbed wheels (£76.67), a new boot catch (£65.88) and a pair of boot rubber buffers (£22.40 - same part as some random BMW)Over the last five years:£32,729.20Out of this, £7,932.40 was discretionary, leaving £24,796.80 essential expenditure.JustificationStill not good reading, is it? However, the 'big four' Vantage jobs (suspension, subframe, brakes, clutch) are now all done. Short of a catastrophe, that should be the end of the chunky bills. The overall cost since buying the car has been £543.82 per month / £17.87 per day, reducing to 'just' £412.24 per month / £13.54 per day if I only include the essential spend. Seems a bit hefty, but its the same monthly cost as the lease on an Audi Q5 2.0TD (and I get to keep the car at the end....)I'm fortunate enough to have a decently-paid job and the way I look at is that I start work at 8:00am each day and everything to do with the car is paid for by about 8:30am Other points of note Tyres - PS4S fitted when I bought the car still have close to 4mm on the

Considering the higher octane rating and the price of the stuff, that looks stonking value to me. I may even run the gauntlet of getting to Tesco in Stafford on that news.....Go for it!BMW recommend at least 98 RON for both of my cars "whenever possible" so I've been using Tesco Momentum for years. Not for the E5 factor, but the RON rating. The only other 99 RON options are Esso and Shell and they charge a massive premium for it. Jet, BP,

I think it looks good, but based on the premise that a modestly specced BMW i3 Touring is about the same price, with vastly better range, I would have to plump for the BMW. Kudos to those who have bought this. Always nice to see something different on the roads.

All in the same colour. Some more than others, I would say.

Lovely little cars, these are. Reminds me of a modern Toyota Starlet Glanza - not super powerful, but tune-able and lightweight, and a bit under the radar compared to its contemporaries

I thought I would share my Suzuki Swift Sport, the ZC33S, which I bought new at the very start of 2020.In 2019 it became clear that my MX5 1.5 ND was not going to be a long term practical solution for me and my wife as she could not comfortably drive the MX5 as her legs were too short(!). I got a little Aygo (which I fitted with a Bilstein B12 kit) to tide me over as there was nothing that took my fancy really to replace the MX5. Being a fan of lightweight sporty hatches I was looking at finding a low mileage Swift Sport ZC32S, the 1.6 na one. At this point the ZC33S 1.4 turbo came back on

Just had a bit of a recap of your thread, your Fiesta is looking like a fine machine!I see you went for fixed calipers and two piece discs on the front that saved approx 10kg, a not inconsiderable amount! Could you feel any difference form the weight saved?
