Davie said: I periodically tip a full bottle of Diesel Magic in mine. Not sure if it's snake oil or not but once it's had a few miles through it, it does seem a bit quieter / pulls cleaner. Then again it's hard to say as it'll spend several days doing very few miles / numerous stop start cycles... then will periodically do a 200 mile round trip on the motorway. It's also been had a intermittently sticky caliper for the past few weeks that comes and goes (that's tonight's job) but somehow, despite my wife's lack of hyper miling prowess, it's still averaging around 45mpg. Though you could argue a tenner for said Diesel Magic factors the customer per mile but I'm but anal enough to work it out... or care! The argument for a diesel still tips in its favour from my point though. I think the maths dictates that a petrol car would need to average 40mpg to match the fuel costs in the diesel... I think... which is fine, many smaller petrol cars will do that. But smaller cars won't really cut it so to match the size, I'm not sure there's anything petrol that'd fit the brief. Plus thus owes me £1800 and has done about 15k since buying it. Hadn't thrown up any issues aside for blanking the EGR and rear shocks / springs in that time so for now at least, it'll be staying.He says, whilst currently browsing for an XC70....Haha Davie, I love my XC70, it ain't a shed though but ticks so many boxes.
