Been using an X1 all week, my eldests daily as he borrowed my Jaguar XJ for a trip up to Scotland.Didnt really relish the prospect as always thought it a bit of a boring lump but after a few days with it, I have to say I gelled with it.2.0 diesel Xdrive, goes ok but what impressed me was the ride and handling, was thinking would be a bit roly poly but I threw it about a bit and its amazingly competent and even, dare I say it, quite good fun. Haha it's funny how they get under the skin. As I said at the beginning, I was never an SUV/4x4 fan but my other half insisted on the ML as the family car and that was superb. One of the most comfortable cars I've been in but you couldn't argue how practical and good it was to drive. What I've found with the X1 is that when you pop it into Sport on the gearbox, it's a fun little car. Drives small, looks and is a good size. It's my other half's first BMW but having got into the 6 series' last year and this, it's got the quality feel of a premium car but fits the hot hatch type vibes.

My other half's car for the last 5 years has been a Mercedes ML350cdi. To it's credit it's was one of the most comfortable cars we've owned. Incredibly practical for a family of five but it was becoming costly. Last year we spent £1k on incidental repairs not including servicing etc. This year the A/C pump packed up but it also developed a timing chain rattle on cold. Frustrating as it only had 104k on it, full service history too but a timing chain replacement was an engine out job, £4k+ and even a local specialist wouldn't do the job. It was likely a tensioner but either way it sealed it's f

Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked.
