Welcome to PH! I'm very happy to hear the 75 is going strong an off to meet its long-term fixer in Colwyn Bay.PLease do keep us updated alongside a few scenic Welsh photographs - safe Rovering.
A long overdue update from the Rover, which has continued quietly doing what it does best: covering miles.Since the last proper update, there have been a few more chapters.First came another visit to Jules at JMA in Colwyn Bay - still firmly Rover Gandalf territory. At just over 210,000 miles the car had a service, a coolant leak sorted and the air conditioning topped up. He also noted a vibration from the front which he thought could possibly be driveshaft related, and mentioned that he hadn’t quite had time to adjust the handbrake before I collected it.The car carried on regardless.Since then, the clutch has also been replaced. Not a particularly glamorous update, but probably one of the more worthwhile bits of maintenance on a car that is now comfortably beyond 200k.The heater matrix remains the one unresolved item. It was previously flushed and improved, but the heating still isn’t right, so that particular quest continues.Which brings us to August 2026 and **217,133 miles**.The latest MOT has produced a short list: Nearside front headlamp aim too low Nearside rear brake disc worn Parking brake efficiency below requirements Nearside front track rod end with excessive play There are also advisories for the other rear disc and a couple of minor headlamp-related items. All things considered, I’m fairly pleased with that.At this mileage I’d much rather be dealing with brakes, a track rod end and some headlamp fettling than anything involving the words “structural corrosion”. The handbrake also isn’t entirely unexpected given Jules’ comment last year. The track rod end is potentially interesting, as there has been that slight front-end vibration for a while. It may be unrelated to the suspected driveshaft, but once the MOT work is done it’ll be interesting to see whether the front end feels any different. So the immediate plan is both rear discs and pads, sort the handbrake, replace the track rod end, correct the headlamp aim and send it back in for another MOT.The

Romeford said: Thank you. Mrs Romeford has accepted that she now has to share me! I think she could easily be a rust bucket or a pristine example. It's down to me where she ends up and I get to learn spanners! I do wonder what she will be like when all the jobs are done! Is this Mrs Romeford or Francesca you’re now referring to? …….

Glad you're ok, and a warm welcome to the 'Small car vs Mercedes 4x4' club. Membership is now 2 of us . I was in my Smart Fortwo and got rear ended by a Mercedes ML. Hopefully the Twizy is fixable.

Next up, we can't go past Switzerland without hitting some passes:https://maps.app.goo.gl/UdFDabEdEW6LpAdr8We leave Bolzano and suck up single lane Italian life. There are heaps of Apple orchards as we go further up into the mountains with some funny little tractors pulling apple carts going the other direction. We laugh. Then a less funny little tractor pulling apples pulls out in front of us and proceeds to do 30kph and it's way to busy to get past him. We don't laugh. Up the top of whatever traffic clogged pass this is there's the sight we've come for. "Luigi, you gonna be in a lotta troubl
