Grabbed a couple of hours yesterday evening cutting and grinding, still needs some more fettling before any new metal can be put back in but made some progress and have a long weekend coming up.The lady from next door whom I bought it off stopped for a chat, she is happy we bought it and is enjoying seeing it getting some TLC, it wouldnt be viable for them to get it done as the costs to pay a professional vs us enthusiastic amateurs just wouldn't add up, I imagine doing the boot floor alone would be £800 plus. My friend's car reminded me of an old Tamiya r/c car. Lifting the body off was easy and the electrics were probably just about as complicated.If the steering is lubed correctly and the gearshift good, it should be easy enough to drive. My friend drove his through a harsh winter, which showed dedication. The heater wasn't good and the windows misted up a lot!As I mentioned earlier, the rear suspension was the weakest aspect of his car, and it can be seen why if you have the body off.
