Aside from the need to actually like driving cars (and TG has had a few presenters over the decades who are just that - generic presenters), the new crew have to be likeable, and for me this has to rule out the likes of Carr, Watson, Smith and Porter (sorry but the last two are Temu versions of CMH - Jaceoo’s to FFRR’s if you like).I like the idea of Chris Harris, Neil Clifford and A.N.Other (Camissa?), but Clifford has a business empire to run. Freddy Hernandez, Matt Armstrong and Rich Benoit (Rich Rebuilds, very funny) would be my choice, but it wouldn’t be worth it financially for Armstrong (and possibly Freddy). However, the stress of producing constant product for the YT machine must take its toll, and it would be a change to have a huge crew and someone else worrying about the edit, photography etc, so perhaps some of the better ones could be persuaded.The very best YouTubers couldn’t make it work money wise, and the lame ones (see above) will just make a lame copy. TBH, the BBC can’t (and probably won’t) win.
