It's funny, isn't it, how 'getting up early for a car show' is so much easier than 'getting up at a normal time for work'? Saturday morning had us not quite bounding out of bed, but we were at least on the road by 6:30 (sorry neighbours...) and hit Bicester less than an hour later. I've been to a couple of Scrambles at Bicester before, but this was my first PH annual service and my first time being allowed into the actual site (rather than the public parking outside). Ordinarily I find myself wandering away from these things at about lunchtime, so being a display car meant I had a longer day there than usual. It turns out this was a good thing - Bicester's not a massive site, but there's all sorts of interesting stuff to see and having 8 hours to wander about meant we had a very leisurely and relaxing day. I didn't actually spend much time with my own car at all, but I did get to chat to a few people here and there and I was pleased to see it got a pretty consistent level of interest through the day.It was an excellent show, though, and a fantastic opportunity to see some of the cars I've been reading about up close. Having a poke around the Beatchetta was a particular highlight!Oh! And it's stopped smelling like oil!

Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. I kept scrolling but would see it popping up for about a week and a half.About a week into the occasional glance and some wishful thinking about the sort of car I would turn it into I showed Mrs. Jim.
