2007 Toyota 4Runner, 6기통, RWD 모델에서 스티어링 휠에 과도한 유격이 발생. 핸들을 돌렸을 때 앞바퀴가 움직이지 않는데도 핸들에 너무 많은 유격이 있음.
처리 내용
다음 중 하나 이상의 부품이 원인일 수 있음: 스티어링 칼럼의 유니버설 조인트 마모, 스티어링 랙 마모, 볼 조인트 마모, 스티어링 랙 마운팅 부실. 차량을 정지한 상태에서 누군가가 스티어링 휠을 최대한 앞뒤로 흔들되 앞바퀴가 움직이지 않게 하면서, 위의 부품들을 검사하여 어느 부품이 유격을 발생시키는지 파악. 예를 들어 UV 조인트가 불량이면 조인트의 한쪽 끝은 움직이고 다른 쪽은 움직이지 않는 것이 보임. 스티어링 랙이 불량이면 입력 샤프트는 앞뒤로 움직이지만 허브 캐리어로 가는 타이 로드는 움직이지 않음. 스티어링 랙이나 볼 조인트를 교체할 경우 휠 얼라인먼트 조정이 필수임.
