So the event itself was incredible, so many fantastic Group B cars in particular. Here s just a flavour of them:Edited by Leins on Friday 31st July 09:22
s m said: Great pics Leins - that Gp S Audi looks interesting Thanks sm, it certainly was. I didn’t hear it run, but lots of Kevlar going on thereThe Toyota Celica I believe is owned by an ex-Team Rally mechanic, and the last time I was there he was showing his GrpS MR2 222D. Incredible machines to seeUnfortunately the Irish guys who owned the Fina-liveried E30 M3 hit engine trouble early on, but stayed around to enjoy the event all the sameI was also chatting with the owner of this Quattro at breakfast. He was saying in-car temps were well over 40C, and each stage he was drinking 4-5 litres of water in the car

Chapter 1 - The Early YearsI don t have many photos of my car standard, partly because it didn t spend much of its life in this state. However, there was a brief period I was content with cleaning it, polishing it and adding a few shiny dress parts. It looked like this:If ever there was a car that didn't have a clue what the next 23 years held for it... Shortly after passing my test, I bought a Wizards of Nos nitrous kit, and jetted it for about 80bhp and made my way down

Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. I kept scrolling but would see it popping up for about a week and a half.About a week into the occasional glance and some wishful thinking about the sort of car I would turn it into I showed Mrs. Jim. Normally she would roll her eyes and pat me on the head and tell me "ok", this time she said "why not go and have a look?" We turn up at this yard and it is stacked out in classic cars which just amazed me, they had
BMW X1
Been using an X1 all week, my eldests daily as he borrowed my Jaguar XJ for a trip up to Scotland.Didnt really relish the prospect as always thought it a bit of a boring lump but after a few days with it, I have to say I gelled with it.2.0 diesel Xdrive, goes ok but what impressed me was the ride and handling, was thinking would be a bit roly poly but I threw it about a bit and its amazingly competent and even, dare I say it, quite good fun. Plus its very practical and handles bumpy roads quite well.Did get me thinking that I would consider something like an X3 next, one with the 3.0 petrol, b
