I'm in for the engine all day long, but like others, I'm not all that keen on the colour or the wheels though. But it could be worse though, because it could be electric for me, and I definitely wouldn't want that at all. I was in London over the weekend, and I heard a V12 Rolls Royce start up, and it immediately put a smile on my face for sure. It was subdued of course, but life doesn't get much better than sitting behind a V12 engine in my view.

As title, I've recently acquired a Mk2 Golf GTI 16v project. Car is a Jade Green late model small bumper 16v. I haven't got the original engine but the project came with a choice of two. I've got a 9A 2.0 16v engine from a Corrado and an ABF 2.0 16v engine from a Mk3 Golf. I'm pretty certain I'm going with the ABF engine but that decision is a long way off. Before then the car will need inner and outer sills, floor pans, inner and outer wings, front and rear valances plus all the usual bodywork repairs. 2004 머큐리 세이블 LS가 간헐적으로 시동이 걸리지 않음. 키를 돌려도 아무 반응 없음. AAA에서 2회 점프 스타트 후 배터리, 스타터, 올터네이터 모두 정상으로 테스트됨. 1시간 전에는 정상 시동되었으나 퇴근 시간에는 시동이 걸릴지 말지 불확실한 상태.

2002 VW New Beetle에서 충방전 문제 발생. AC 작동 중(항상 그런 것은 아님) 약 15-20분 주행 후 배터리 방전으로 인해 엔진이 불규칙하게 작동하다가 결국 시동이 꺼짐. 엔진 오프 상태에서 배터리 단자 전압 측정 시 12.9V. 배터리 충전 후에도 증상 지속. 서비스점의 충전 테스트에서 발전기는 충분한 전력을 공급하는 것으로 나타남.

임팩트 렌치가 들어갈 공간이 없음. 표준 3/8" 50 ft/lb 에어 렌치로 브레이크 패드 및 디스크 교체를 위한 볼트를 빼낼 수 있는지 확인 필요. 100ft/lb 1/2" 모델 구매를 고려 중

얼터네이터 교환

최근 올터네이터와 배터리를 교체한 후, 밤을 지나고 시동을 걸 때 파크에서 리버스나 드라이브로 기어를 변속하면 딱딱거리는 소음이 들림. 가속 페달을 밟으면 소음이 사라지고, 주행 중에는 소음이 없음. 2006년 Toyota Camry.

1996 Chevy S10 트럭이 8시간 이상 추운 환경에서 방치된 후 시동이 걸리지 않음 (스타터는 작동하나 스파크 플러그가 점화되지 않음). 더운 건조한 지역에서는 정상 시동됨. 30~60분간 액셀을 펌프질하며 크랭킹하면 때때로 시동이 걸림. 시동 거부 시 가끔 스터터링 발생. 2년간 지속되어 점점 악화됨.

엔진오일 교환

오일 교환 후 냉시동 시 오일 압력 경고등이 평소보다 오래 켜져 있음 (평소 1초 이내 → 현재 최대 4초). 오일 온도가 올라간 후에는 정상. 오일 레벨과 누유 없음, 추천 규격의 고급 5W30 오일 사용 중.

엔진에 대해 더 알고 싶고, 정비 지식을 배우고 싶으며, 엔진에 쌓인 먼지와 그리스를 청소하기 위해 엔진을 분해하는 것을 고려 중입니다. 분해 후 다시 조립하고 이전보다 더 잘 작동하게 하고 싶습니다. 이런 작업에 따른 주요 위험이 있을까요? 반드시 피해야 할 이유가 있을까요?

2006 Saturn Ion 자동변속기가 작동하지 않음. 드라이브 기어에 넣으면 액셀을 밟아도 엔진만 회전하고 차가 움직이지 않음 (뉘트럴 상태처럼 굴러감). 반대로 리버스 기어는 정상 작동함. 전기 신호 문제일 가능성이 제시됨 (드라이브 기어 진입 시 변속기와의 통신 두절).
