I own a 2018 Toyota Camry equipped with the UA80 8-speed automatic transmission. I have experienced the following symptoms: burning smell coming from the transmission, hesitation and jerking during acceleration, and previously noticed a knocking/clunking noise that eventually stopped on its own. These symptoms are consistent with the known UA80 transmission defect involving excessive heat buildup, premature fluid degradation, and torque converter failure. The transmission on the 2018 Toyota Camrys are the worst. Ever since I got my car it has had loss of power with acceleration it jerks randomly when driving and it’s very unpredictable. It makes me nervous every day I drive it & it gives me anxiety that at any second my transmission will just completely fail. I did research and soooo many people are having the same issue. I have a 2006 Toyota Rav4 - The other day, the car wouldn't start. We jumped the battery and it started right up. No lights were left on and nothing is plugged in that would be causing this. OFTEN DURING ACCELERATION, MY CAR SEEMS TO SPUTTER OR MISFIRE. WHEN TAKING OFF THERE SEEMS TO BE, AS THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT, AN AIR BUBBLE IN THE FUEL LINE. KINDA LIKE FUEL ISN'T CONSTANTLY BEING FED TO THE ENGINE. THERE ARE GAPS. WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, MY CAR ACCELERATES SLOWLY AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, TAKES OFF AS IF ITS PLAYING CATCH UP. ALTHOUGH THERE ISN'T AN ACTIVE RECALL ON MY CAR, I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP.

Received while driving notification on driving panel car needed to be taken to the dealership immediately. I returned vehicle to service department of where I purchased the car. I also had an engineer from the bureau of automotive repair evaluate my car. The engineer attested the issue was a result of a design flaw. The service department did not comment but instead reported I would have a $3000.00 repair. I never saw my car again even though while it was at the dealership I made TWO MORE CAR PAYMENTS.

Hello! I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with 185,000 miles on it. Things are tight financially right now and so I’ve been trying to get this car to last as long as possible before investing in a new one. A year or two ago, a mechanic told me that I needed to get a bunch of work done on my car. We did some of it but saved the front struts and CV axles and are now trying to decide if it’s worth it to spend the money on this. So, I’m asking for some advice from all of you. Is it worth spending the money? Will my car fall apart if I ignore these repairs? I need to get at least another year out of it

I was driving my 2018 Toyota Camry SE and the brakes went out on me. I managed to keep pumping the brake and slowly apply the emergency brake to bring the vehicle to a stop.
