Tricky. I have two polar opposite cars, so to combine to one means compromising everything. How do you combine a fast, manual, 2 seater, petrol car with an economical, automatic, 4 door diesel?Errrm... a bmw m240i, probably.

I was thinking about this the other day, as a work colleague was telling me about his friend who was transplanting a BMW M57 diesel engine (the 3 litre straight six diesel) and the ZF 8-speed auto into a classic Defender.  Now objectively this makes it a better car (faster, more efficient, more usable etc) and this is essentially what Ineos did to make the Grenadier but does it retain the character/feel of a classic Defender?  I would argue no.  If I were getting a classic Defender, I would probably seek out a Td5 as I thought it was the best engine they put in it from factory and maybe get a

I have seen this car near my work a couple of times now.Looks lovely! Its RHD with a UK number plate but the only information i can see about a new Williams renault 5 is here:https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/renault/5/367369/new...which looks quite different, so what is this car? just a home grown car?

In my earlier examples, I'd love either a Delorean or a DS despite the engines being st. I think a either would be a perfect EV conversion candidate.

If I was limited to only being able to run one car, then I think I'd go for something like the Audi RS4 or RS6. They offer practicality for my family, and they offer performance too. Plus I've always fancied an X5M as well. So what would you go for and why?

I have to admit it does look good. However as it's an EV and so it's a big fat NO from me.
